Lifelong learning
In a constantly changing world, the veterinary practitioner continues to train throughout his professional life. Continuing education is even a professional obligation controlled by the Order of Veterinary Practitioner (Ordre des Médecins Vétérinaires) ; it is also specific to certain areas such as the safety of the food chain, epidemiosurveillance, the milk sector and radioprotection.
C
ontinuing education takes many forms, in particular : conferences, e-learning, congresses, practical work, reading articles. The veterinary practitioner can follow it with various operators, including Formavet, a non-profit organization in which the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine actively participates and whose president, Etienne Thiry, is a professor at the faculty. In addition, faculty members, professors, assistants and researchers are regularly solicited as trainers and are implicated in various organisations involved in the continuing education of the veterinary practitioner.
